Hand-woven by artisan women of the Zemmour tribe in the Taznakhte region of the Anti Atlas, Morocco, this flat-weave kilim is a living textile archive. Its deep red ground — achieved through natural dyeing — is scattered with freehand motifs: lozenges, chevrons, checkerboards, crosses, and protective Berber symbols rendered in sun yellow, black, white, and sage green.

Every symbol is woven from memory, without a pattern, passed down through generations. No two pieces are alike.
